Brief

Turkish Airlines wanted to grow its loyal customer base on social media by bringing new members to the Miles & Smiles brand loyalty program. Our part was to come up with a creative project that attracted the attention of members of the loyalty program.

Strategy

“The audience is already lively, our brand enthusiasts are already open to interaction, they will talk about it of their own accord,” we said.
They didn’t.
But we didn’t give up! With the idea “If they didn’t talk, let’s do something to make them talk” in mind, we decided to create content that would allow people to participate, speak, and share willingly.

What did we do?

We combined our awareness with our creativity and blended classic digital media platforms with technology and implemented the
“Who Wants a Million Miles?” contest.
We created a Facebook application. With this app, we gave Miles & Smiles users the opportunity to earn a million mile-points. What did they do? They used the app. They joined the competition. They joined time and time again. They even liked it so much that they invited friends who weren’t Miles & Smiles users. (We think that was what made it really precious 🙂)

What Did We Achieve?

67,946 Miles & Smiles members used the app.
The competition received 335,198 participations.
We achieved a total of 1,768,858 website traffic and 1,137,531 unique visitors.
637,214 people were invited to become Miles & Smiles members organically.
As a result, Miles & Smiles members invited their nearest and relatives to the program and contributed to the creation of new loyal customers. This way, without investing in advertising, the brand gained brand-new organic customers by mobilizing its users and reviving the posting activity of the users from their own accounts.
